- Phyllis Scott Review added: 2018.10.30★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆My daughter and her boyfriend hired bicycles from this company. Through no fault at all one of the chains broke on one of the bikes. Having walked back to Halfords in Barnstaple and getting a new chain fitted they carried on their way. On returning the bikes they mentioned the chain repair which had cost them £12. The owner said it was a new chain and couldn't have broken refusing to pay the £12 despite being shown the receipt for repairs. What a rude and greedy man. Later on in the evening, his wife rang up and asked them to come back. The next day on turning up the wife wasn't there but hubby was. He grudgingly paid £5 for the chain but refused to pay the full £12 charge because he felt my daughter and her boyfriend should have fitted the chain themselves. This cycle hire establishment does a good business.....the owner however is rude, selfish and acts like Scrooge.
